MSN TV - Customizing Your Emails
Part 7 - Bonus Tags

Here are some tags that you can use in your emails (although you may never have any use for them in your emails) but, I want you to get your money's worth. So, consider these tags as "bonus tags". (These are great tags to use when building webpages.)

Would you like to change your text from THIS to"ITALIC?"

This tag <<>i<>>in front of the text,
This tag <<>/i<>>following the text.

Do you need a BOLD look for your text?

This tag <<>b<>>in front of the text,
This tag <<>/b<>>following the text.

Is there a portion of your text that you want to UNDERLINE?

This tag <<>u<>>in front of the text,
This tag <<>/u<>>following the text.

Want to
CENTER

your text on a page?

This tag <<>center<>>in front of the text,
This tag <<>/center<>>following the text.

Need spaces

between lines

of text?

Use <<>br<>> as a line break, or to start a new line of text, and, to create spaces between lines of text. NOTE: the <<>br<>> tag does not have a closing <<>/br<>> tag, and can be used in succession several times. Example: <<>br<>><<>br<>><<>br<>><<>br<>><<>br<>><<>br<>><<>br<>><<>br<>>

Want to separate your lines of text with straight horizontal lines that span the width of your screen? (I made 4 of them above to use as an example.)

The Horizontal Rule is an easy to use (and very effective) tag that you'll probably use frequently on webpages:

<<>hr<>>

Do you need some things from the grocery store? Better make a list so you don't forget anything.

THE LIST:

  • Milk

  • Bread

  • Butter

  • Eggs

  • TV Dinners

THE CODE:

<<>ul<>><<>li<>>Milk<<>/li<>>
<<>li<>>Bread<<>/li<>>
<<>li<>>Butter<<>/li<>>
<<>li<>>Eggs<<>/li<>>
<<>li<>>TV Dinners<<>/li<>><<>/ul<>>
